About Us
We are a family owned and operated business. We have been located in downtown Petaluma since 1988, and are proud to share the news about the August 2005 opening of our second location at 1308 Dynamic Street, Petaluma, CA. We are California natives and love to work on Z's and where we live, the beautiful wine country. Bernard, our carburation and engine expert, became interested in auto repair through a work experience program in High School. His first job was at the Marin County Sheriff's garage at Civic Center in San Rafael at age 15. Jasun, our bodywork and electrical expert, also worked through a school sponsored program at a body shop in Novato. They both attended Santa Rosa Junior College's Automotive Tech program and also received their smog technician licenses. Marlon is our research specialist. Greg Reno is our freelance web master and computer guru, and Norma is our administrative accountant. Michael Reno's expertise and knowledge of cars has been a valued addition to our team, serving as East Coast field correspondent. We all drive Z car's with the exception of Michael Reno who races around in a red Miata with his wife, beautiful Beverly Ann.


History
On September 1, 1988 the shop was located at the Mahoney Building on Petaluma Blvd. We enjoyed our first five years there fixing cars and getting to know the ropes. Petaluma enjoys an extended family atmosphere amongst business owners. We always look to purchase and/or employ local help and business' before going outside of Petaluma. That type of friendliness and support is what allows us to enjoy what we do not only as a business venture but as a personal preference. The old Mahoney Building, over 100 years old, was restored and remodeled to serve as a Poker Casino and billiards room. PAW then moves to 1010 Lakeville St. and after 5 years, that is sold to McPhails Construction and we relocate to our present site at 15 Copeland St. The whole time we are never further than 1 to 2 miles from our original site. Since August of 2005, we have opened a second shop, still 1.5 miles away, at 1308 Dynamic Street, cross street is North McDowell Blvd, between DMV and K Mart Shopping Center. All along we have grown in what we do and our customer base boasts over 1000 customers. We thank Petaluma and all of our customers for making our shop a success. Our motto is, when you visit us, you're family.


Future Goals
Petaluma Auto Works will be dedicated to the restoration of Z-Cars. We look forward to attending the car shows around California and visiting auto events and conventions to keep up with what everyone else is doing and having fun with and of course share with our friends and customers. We enjoy the new television shows that build cars and would be open to doing a reality shop show, no Hollywood props, but the real life of a car enthusiast. We want to have a large inventory of hard to find Z-Car parts, and are putting together our own kits for different purposes like carburation kits and suspension kits. Finally but not least we are doing our own custom reupholstering of 240Z bucket seats and Recaros.
